The Saucony Ride 19 is a do-everything neutral daily trainer, the kind of running shoe you reach for on most days of the week without thinking twice. It is not a max-cushion cruiser and it is not a speed shoe. It sits right in the middle, and that is the point. PWRRUN+ foam gives you a lively, slightly bouncy ride that soaks up easy miles but still has enough life to pick up the pace when you want to. With a 36mm heel stack and an 8mm drop it is protective without feeling tall or vague underfoot, and at 255g it stays light enough that it never feels like a chore. In our view this is one of the safest recommendations in the daily training shoe category: versatile, durable and honest about what it is. If you want a single shoe that covers easy runs, steady runs and the odd long run, the Ride 19 earns its place. It is a natural step on from the Ride 18.
The Ride 19 fits true to size for most runners, so order your usual Saucony size and you should be fine. The fit is what we would call a standard medium: not narrow, not roomy, with a midfoot that wraps securely and a heel that locks in well thanks to a moulded collar. The toe box gives enough room to splay on longer efforts without feeling sloppy, though runners with genuinely wide feet may find it a touch snug across the forefoot and should look for a wide fitting if Saucony offers one in their size. The engineered mesh upper has a little give, so it forms to the foot after a run or two rather than needing a long break-in. If you like a locked-down, performance fit for faster work, the lighter Kinvara 16 runs closer to the foot. For everyday training the Ride 19 hits a comfortable, secure middle ground.
The ride is smooth and gently energetic. PWRRUN+ foam has a soft-but-stable feel that cushions the landing then springs back with a mild pop, so easy miles feel easy and steady miles feel controlled. The geometry rolls you through the gait without a hard rocker, which keeps the ride natural rather than pushy. Hold a steady pace and it flows. Drop the hammer for a tempo and it holds on gamely, though you will feel it is a trainer, not a racer, once you push hard. Where it shines is versatility. It never feels harsh, never feels mushy, and it stays consistent whether you are fresh or tired late in a long run.
With 36mm under the heel and 28mm up front, the Ride 19 offers a genuinely protective level of cushioning for a shoe that still weighs 255g. PWRRUN+ is the plusher, bouncier foam in Saucony's line-up, and here it strikes a balance between softness and support that suits high-mileage weeks. There is enough stack to take the sting out of pavement on long runs, but not so much that you lose ground feel or feel perched up high. If you want appreciably more foam and a softer, more cosseting ride for recovery days, the Triumph 24 is the bigger sibling to look at. For most daily training, the Ride 19 gives you all the cushioning you need.
This is a neutral shoe with no medial post or dedicated support structures, so it is aimed at runners with an efficient, neutral gait or mild pronation who do not need corrective help. That said, it is not an unstable ride. The moderate stack, the 8mm drop and a reasonably wide platform give it a planted, predictable feel that many neutral runners will find secure even when tired. If you know you need real stability or you have been prescribed a support shoe, look at Saucony's Guide instead, which shares much of the Ride's character with added structure. For everyone else, the Ride 19 stays composed underfoot.

The engineered mesh upper is comfortable and unfussy. It breathes well, which matters on warmer runs, and the internal padding around the heel and tongue is judged nicely: enough to hold the foot without adding bulk or heat. Lockdown is good, with a lace setup that stays put and a heel counter that grips without digging in. There are no obvious hot spots or seams to break in, so most runners can lace up and go from day one. It is a practical, no-drama upper that does its job and gets out of the way, which is exactly what you want on a shoe you plan to run in day after day.
